Violin sensation Jennifer Frautschi—with her Stradivarius from 1722 in tow—performs Handel, Saint-Saëns and other works built around images of fireworks with the Napa Valley Symphony.
Selections range from music specifically composed to accompany a fireworks display such as Handel’s Music for the Royal Firework, to virtuosic displays like Saint-Saëns’ Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso, Ravel’s Tzigane and De Falla’s El Amor Brujo Suite.
In recent seasons, Ms. Frautschi—and her 1722 Antonio Stradivarius violin named the ‘ex-Cadiz’— has created a sensation through well-received appearances as soloist with Pierre Boulez and the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Christoph Eschenbach and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
