Violet Oakley: the Building of the House of Wisdom October 14, 2011

In 1910, artist Violet Oakley teamed up with architect Frank Miles Day to create a large mural cycle for the entrance hall of a Philadelphia townhouse. This exhibit examines her original design, inspired by her passion for Renaissance art.
