A legendary event is in the making for Labor Day weekend at Hotel Congress. Celebrate the 25th anniversary of Club Congress with a reunion music festival featuring some of the great bands that played in clubs all over Tucson over the past 40+ years.
Over 40 of these illustrious groups will take the stage over the holiday weekend Sept 3rd through 5th. Groups such as the Dusty Chaps, who played at Tucson's renowned Stumble Inn as well as the Poco Loco, will evoke long forgotten memories for many in Tucson. The program also includes Phantom Limbs who were one of Tucson’s most critically acclaimed and durable acts throughout the 80’s and into the 90’s, as well as Love L.T.D., Los Nawdy Dogs and more. An exhibit of Tucson Music Memorabilia – video clips, photos, music and collectables- at Hotel Congress will surely amplify the nostalgia throughout the weekend.
Performances will be held at Hotel Congress on one of two stages – the El Casino Ballroom stage on the plaza and the Tribute Stage in Club Congress.
Show times begin at 7pm on Friday, Sept 3rd and 5pm on Sept 4th and 5th. Admission is $10 per person per night or $25 for a weekend pass. Special weekend room rates at Hotel Congress rooms are being offered. Call 520-622-8848 to make reservations. For a detailed schedule of bands and times, visit the website at www.hotelcongress.com.
