Vinnie & The Lubricators - Blues Jam February 21, 2009

Vinnie and the Lubricators performing your favorite 60's, 70's and 80's hard rock and blues. Vinnie has worked and performed with Koko Taylor, Hubert Sumlin, Lucky Peterson, Stella, Merl Sanders, Exile, Pierre Bensusan, Hank Williams Jr. & III, the Grass Roots, Peter Dickinson, Trace Adkins, B.J. Thomas, and many others........ Vincenzo "Vinnie" Mele was born the son of a tailor in the rough-and-tumble area of Southern Ohio known as Appalachia. As a young child, he had a musically attuned ear that he frequently engaged by banging pots and pans on his kitchen floor or by creating instruments resembling guitars from materials in his fathers shop. Vinnie grew up listening to roots music: bluegrass, folk, country, reggae and blues, and soon was playing along with the recordings, quickly learning the ways of the these great musical artist. However, Vinnie has not been a touring musician his entire life. He is also a painter, an occasional poet, a culinary master in Italian cuisine and an adventure seeker. He has worked as a cable guy, a music teacher and a mechanic, the job from which the band name the Lubricators derives. The vision for the Lubricators arose one day as Vinnie thought. Why not create a modern sound using the influence of great roots music. From this, the Lubricators were conceived. In assembling the group, Vinnie knew he would have a hard time finding musicians who could play just about anything. Fortunately, Southern Ohio is ripe with talented musicians. Vinnie called an old friend, David Martin, a renowned multi-instrumentalist, and they went to work fine-tuning Vinnies vision for the Lubricators. Dave has nearly 30 years of experience in the music world and has toured the national circuit playing with The Blue Sky Review, Copperwine, Asia, Eleven Eleven and Nightflight. Bassist Jeremy Harmon was the next addition to the band. Vinnie and Jeremy had been playing together since high school. In the late 90s, Jeremy toured with several national acts, like Houstons Sherry Sarno Band, and worked as a studio session musician in Houstons music scene. Jeremy has also played with Floyd Fansee and the Blues Roosters.
