The Yuma Jazz Company will perform for the first event of the 2008 Village Jazz Series from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, January 3, at the Village area of Yuma Palms Regional Center. This event will be the first of 12 concerts in the Village Jazz Series presented by Yuma Palms Regional Center every Thursday evening, January through March.
The YJC quintet, which features Steven Hennig, trumpet, Brian Carlson, saxes, Carl Posch, guitar, Jon Knudtson, bass, and Brandon Coz, drums, will perform straight ahead, latin,and contemporary jazz along with original music from the groups two CDs.
The performance is free and open to the public at the Village, which is located in front of Harkins Theaters and surrounded by specialty shops and eateries, in the Yuma Palms Regional Center, located at the intersection of 16th Street and Pacific Ave. Concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the event.
