Prasant leads his adventurous new group, VidyA at a live performance at the Red Poppy Art House, a venue in the heart of San Francisco's Mission. This will be part of a special artist in residency at the Art House, consisting of bi-monthly performances featuring new compositions and special cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Recently selected by the San Francisco Chronicle as a group to watch in its 2007 'Year in Jazz' feature, vidyA is a quartet that draws equally from South Indian classical music and jazz for its idiom, while establishing a group sound all its own.
