VFW Marksmanship competition April 19, 2009

We are pleased to announce our first ever Marksmanship competition at 27 1/2 Rd rifle range at 10:00 AM. We have 10 prizes available for our top shooters of the day. The shoot will consist of .22 rifles only. If you have a .22, please bring it. We also would like folks to share their rifle with shooters who do not have their own if they would be so generous. The post will supply the ammunition. The shooters will be judged on 50 meter to 200 meter shoot. The entrance fee is $10.00. All proceedings will be donated to the post relief fund and The National Home for Children. We will also have BBQ and soft drinks available for sale by the post at the event. The event will have 3 range safety personnel on site.

This event was planned by the Commander to build partnerships among the VFW members and donate to the charities that are sponsored by the VFW. Unfortunately, only 5 dedicated members showed up to support Post 1247. Many members of this post are pathetic. What a disappointment in supporting the team.
