Snow Tails is ”…art that is thoughtful and fun.”
Donald Rosenberg, The Plain Dealer 2006.
Snow Tails “…communicated the joyous spirit of the holiday season.” Wilma Salisbury, The Plain Dealer 2005.
The delightful original tale explores the magical adventures of the Zookeeper and his animals when the zoo closes for the winter season. This romp is complete with bumbling thieves and a sassy leader, a rogue panther, the heroic Zookeeper, an orphan elephant and the elegant Snow Angel. This family ballet is choreographed by Artistic Director Sabatino Verlezza, Assistant Artistic Director Tracy Pattison and School faculty members, Heather Carson and S.A Verlezza. Highlighting the music of Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals, the revised work will feature a new dance for a motorized Segway scooter that will capture the fun spirit of the holiday season and entertain audiences young and old.
The program will also premier a new work by Sabatino Verlezza, I-X Pieces, as well as restaged excerpts from Dance Energies, choreographed in 1959 by American modern dance pioneer, May O’Donnell.
