Pete Escovedo has enjoyed a long and influential career with success and critical acclaim in smooth jazz, salsa, Latin jazz and contemporary music.
On Feb. 13 Mr. “E” will perform for the Ventura Music Festival’s Fourth Annual Latin Jazz Concert at the Ventura High School Theater. In addition to his famous artistry on the timbales, Escovedo will bring his Latin Jazz Orchestra, which includes a lively horn section.
One of the most popular concerts on the Festival’s yearly calendar, the concert series previously featured Arturo Sandoval, Poncho Sanchez, and Paquito D’Rivera. Garnering new fans every season, this crossover concert series regularly sells out the 1,400-seat Ventura High School Theater.
As a solo artist, Escovedo has recorded six critically acclaimed albums and collaborated with a long list of Who’s Who in the music industry, including his daughter, percussionist and vocal artist Sheila E.
As a percussionist he has recorded and performed with the best, including Carlos Santana, Tito Puente, Herbie Hancock, Mongo Santamaria, Bobby McFerrin, Woody Herman, Stephen Stills, Anita Baker, George Duke, Boz Scaggs, Barry White, Arturo Sandoval, Poncho Sanchez, Chick Corea, Prince, and others.
