On Saturday, June 28th Venice opens her arms, with the help of Earth Day LA and the Venice Chamber of Commerce, to bring a new annual ecologically themed free festival. On Saturday, June 28th, Venice Eco-fest is scheduled to make a fabulous entrance into one of the most creatively diverse and beautiful locations in all of California…Venice Beach.
Will there be music? Of course, with the rich talent and musicianship in Venice…how could there not be? Featured local artists will be featured and will include the Superbroke Brass & Tin & Strings Marching Band Ensemble, Stephen Longfellow Fiske and Band, Kathy Leonardo, The Luminaries, Preeta and the PeaceMakers, dance presentations from local schools, and many more—all presented FREE on a stage powered by the sun. In addition there will be a world premiere performance by The Blankenship Ballet Company, choreographed by Bertha Suarez Blankenship and Raydel Caceres.
There will also be many political dignitaries…such as the Honorary Chair, 11th District Councilman Bill Rosendahl and leading environmentalists, including actor Ed Begley Jr., and many other special guests.
Will there be food? There will be delicious organic vegetarian food and drink on sale by A Taste of Life and others. Don’t forget, it is Venice Beach…there will be lots of choices for every appetite!
Is it a family oriented festival? Yes, Yes and Yes. There will be a special Kid’s Area offering interactive and participatory entertainment for children, plus fun and creative ways to teach kids how to help save our beautiful world.
There will be over 150 eco-conscious and educational exhibitors offering everything from original wares and services provided by local Venice artists, craftspeople, and businesses to information about what you can do regarding such issues as global warming, habitat destruction, depletion of resources, and toxic pollution of our air, soil and water.
Plus up to date info and showcases on alternative energy, electric cars, and other environmentally friendly vehicles, as well as a variety of green technological displays, all spreading new ideas that can show us how in our daily lives we can help save energy, money and our planet.
What better way to spend a Saturday than to come to a free, fun music and art eco-conscious festival at Venice Beach, in the open sky by the ocean and sand?
