Vegetable Garden Design and Construction February 19, 2011

Location: Douglas Classroom, Center for Urban Horticulture. In this first course in a two-part series on home vegetable gardening for beginners, Colin McCrate of the Seattle Urban Farm Company (www.seattleurbanfarmco.com) will walk through the basics of setting up a home vegetable garden. Through a mixture of slideshow, lecture, and discussion the class will cover how to select the best site for your garden, how to design your garden, and how to find and use sustainable materials. Also covered will be the basics of garden bed construction and soil preparation.
