On March 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Vaseo Apartment Homes will host Phoenix Councilman Bill Gates at its second annual “March Madness” benefit. Gates will tip off the March Madness tournament for three local schools: North Canyon High School, Mountain Sky Middle School and Lookout Mountain Elementary. A free barbeque will be served and attendees will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including a flat-screen television, an iPad, Suns tickets and gift cards. Prizes will be raffled following the basketball tournament and all proceeds will be divided between participating schools.
“The Vaseo staff is always so welcoming and this event is a great way to get out into the community with friends,” said Megan Perry, Athletic Secretary for North Canyon High School and a winner at last year’s competition. “Last year, the prizes and food were fantastic, and our school had a great time. I even won a flat-screen TV!”
Five teachers from each school will compete in up to three featured challenges on March 31, vying for a first-place donation of $1,000, a second–place donation of $750 and a third-place donation of $500. The school with the most participants at the event will receive an additional $500. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the councilman will tip off promptly at 11 a.m.
Vaseo Apartment Homes is located at the corner of 7th Street and Greenway Road in North Phoenix. Vaseo is a Klein Ventures Property professionally managed by Phoenix-based Alliance Residential Company. As the largest apartment property in metro Phoenix, the Vaseo community and its patrons are heavily involved in causes that are important to Phoenix residents. In demonstration of this, the “Vaseo Cares” program, an initiative designed to build and improve the community through a variety of unique services and education-promoting efforts, was developed.
“Schools are the foundation of our community,” said Robert Klein, President of Klein Financial Corporation and representative for Vaseo Apartment Homes’ ownership. “Vaseo is proud to demonstrate our long-term commitment to our children, our schools and the greater Phoenix community through this family event. We proudly invite our neighbors to join us for a fun-filled day of food, local vendors, music and games, as Vaseo encourages the public to match our commitment to support local schools.”
“We have implemented the School Cares Program across all of our properties because previous efforts have demonstrated that commitment to special programs for our residents and their families can dramatically improve their lives and the overall sense of community at each apartment property,” he added. “When residents and their children are fully engaged with these programs, their successes are accelerated and amplified — we know that together, we can make a difference.”
