VanX: Creating Content Management Systems in Java September 19, 2006

Abstract
Arron Ferguson will be covering his book entitled Creating Content Management Systems in Java, which is published by Charles River Media. The book covers how to create a Content Management System (CMS) using Java as the programming logic and XML as the data storage format. The presentation will show how a CMS can be built using XHTML and CSS for the presentation of content, how Java applet and Java's Swing technology can be used to provide adminstration capabilities of the CMS, and how servlets, JSPs and XSLT can provide the backend functionality of the server.

Bio
Arron Ferguson Dipl. T, B.Tech. (Hons) has been teaching various computer systems technology courses at the British Columbia Institute of Technology now for nine years. Some of the topics Arron has been teaching include Java programming, XML technologies, games programming, multimedia authoring, 2D and 3D animation and Web design.
