In August we have returning speaker Gerald Bauer presenting on Web Services, REST-Style. REST, or Representational State Transfer, was coined to describe a set of basic principles that underlie the World Wide Web. Join us to see what is being done with "RESTful" systems that follow these principles. Following the presentation we'll have a door prize draw, round-the-room introductions, and then open the floor for networking. This is a networking event so bring your business/contact cards and a story or two to share.
About the Presentation:
Gerald will explain the powerful yet simple architecture behind the stunning success of the World Wide Web - an open architecture built using universal identifiers, formats & protocols.
What are universal identifiers? What are universal formats? What are universal protocols? Who cares and why does it all matter?
Gerald will explain it all using popular RESTful web services that let you share, tag, and sort bookmarks, photos, blog stories, company profiles, and much much more.
