You and your fellow adventurers will experience an ecological bounty as we explore some of the most spectacular sites in the country. Our hiking program includes Tapanti National Park with its volcanic springs, 150 rivers and 45 species of mammals including the white-faced monkey and red-brocket deer. We shall also explore La Selva Biological Station, boasting half of the 850 bird species in Costa Rica, including toucans, parrots and hummingbirds. Our non-hiking day we feature a boat tour of the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, rich in bird life, lakes and swamps. A major highlight will be our hike in the Arenal Volcano and National Park, one of Costa Rica’s most popular attractions and still an active volcano! Our accommodations throughout our 8-day adventure will be a mix of hotels, lodges and casitas, often right in the heart of the rainforests and biological reserves.
