Director Gigi Dar’s theatrical hit from 2006 comes to the JCC just in time for Sukkot. Ushpizin is a heartwarming tale that takes an unflinching look at the daily lives of ultra-orthodox Jews coping with life in modern Israel. On the surface, this is a comic tale of a pair of hooligans turned “holyguests” during one Sukkot; the film charts deeper territory, however, as it explores universal truths and myths about the underpinnings of faith.
