Join us to celebrate the launch of the book "Nothing is Blue" by author Biman Nath. Usha K R and Gita Aravamudan will be in conversation with the author.
About the book:
A fascinating debut novel set in the enigmatic world of tantric Buddhism
It is the seventh century. The last of the ancient emperors rules over the Indian subcontinent. All is not well in his empire though, and there are palpable signs of cracks. Even the serene atmosphere at the Nalanda monastery - the biggest in the ancient world - is shaken by the political turmoil.
It is also a time shrouded in mysteries and secrets. Some Buddhist monks have begun to dabble in tantric rituals. Elsewhere, a crucial astronomical discovery has been hushed up. A student monk from the Nalanda monastery stumbles on these unpalatable secrets, and his life changes forever.
It is a story that Xuanzang, the Chinese pilgrim visiting Nalanda, cannot afford to record. But it would haunt him endlessly.
A vivid journey into the medieval world, Nothing Is Blue is a tale of cul-de-sacs of history, of pain and memory, of hope and fate.
