Pick up your next great read with just pocket money! The Friends of Marion Carnegie Library will host a used book sale on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the library.
Most hardback copies are $1 and paperbacks are $.50. Newer editions will have special prices well below market value. All available titles are organized by subject, making shopping easy. There is something for everyone, from children to adults.
The sale will feature fiction, romance, mystery, westerns, history and reference books and also includes videotapes, DVDs, puzzles and audio books. Some of the authors available include Amanda Quick, Kathy Reichs, Gregory Maguire, David Baldacci and Mary Stewart. The library also needs volunteers to help with the sale. Some sorting and set up will take place before the sale and cashiers are needed on sale days. Call for more information on days and times help is needed.
The Friends of Marion Carnegie Library is a volunteer group who supports the library in its mission to bring a wide variety of programs and services to the community. The Friends sponsor book sales, summer reading programs and library events and activities. Now is an exciting time to join the Friends. The library is remodeling its young adult area, has added a coffee bar and is offering new and continuing programs.
The Friends of Marion Carnegie Library is open to all members of the community. Annual membership is $5 for adults, $2 for students, $7 for families and $25 for businesses. The group also accepts charitable donations.
