The USC Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to be offering its SUMMER DRAMA CONSERVATORY for Elementary and High School students June 8-29, 2009, on the Columbia campus of USC.
Under the direction of USC Assistant Professor Peter Duffy, the USC SUMMER DRAMA CONSERVATORY is a three-week summer acting intensive dedicated to providing aspiring actors with a rigorous, challenging and FUN training and performance experience. Students will learn age-appropriate skills in acting, movement and creative expression under the tutelage of USC's award-winning faculty and graduate students in the USC Graduate Theatre Education Program.
The Conservatory is divided into three age divisions:
* High School (rising 9th through 12th graders);
* Upper Elementary (rising 4th through 6th graders); and,
* Early Elementary (rising 1st through 3rd graders).
Students of the USC SUMMER DRAMA CONSERVATORY will learn and perform in historic Longstreet Theatre, the midlands’ only arena theatre and home of the USC Department of Theatre and Dance.
