The highly entertaining and versatile United States Air Force Academy Band’s Falconaires Jazz Ensemble from Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs, CO, performs traditional and contemporary big band jazz under the musical direction of Master Sergeant Scott E. Crump, who hails from Summerville. The 18 professional Airmen-musicians in the “Glenn Miller” style big band follows in a long blue line of talented Air Force Academy bandsmen who are dedicated to serving our nation and representing the young men and women at the academy training to be officers in the Air Force. The ensemble performs annually for more than 50,000 people at public concerts, festivals, and civic and military functions and plays a major role in cultivating our national heritage through America’s only indigenous musical genre – jazz. The concert is free, but general admission tickets are required.
