Urban Foraging: the Good, Bad and Fermented February 25, 2010

Explore the environment through the eyes of a forager. Natural selection has equipped Homo sapiens with the potential to consume a wide variety of organisms. We use these organisms to feed, medicate, and intoxicate ourselves. Learn how our ancestors used their natural resources and how we use them today. Our exploration will include a guided tour of the edible, toxic, and intoxicating species in Balboa Park. Event includes field trip Saturday, 2/27/10 from 9 am to 1 pm.
