SALVATORE BAGLIO"Baglio is truly New England Rock Royalty and though the crown might be slightly bloodied from the wear of the road, it shines with the jewels of genius" Brian Wheeler Marblehead Festival of Arts

LIVE REVIEW Perks Coffeehouse What follows is sheer poetry—a poignant suite that places the heart of Salvatore Baglio onto a grand musical scale. It includes most of the sensational tunes from his new album,[Memory Theatre] as well as selected personal favorites like “Waterloo Sunset” and “Happiness is a Warm Gun,” offering sordid stories about his flamboyant past growing up in East Boston, and concluding with his transformation into a reformed, rejuvenated performer. All this laid bare with just an acoustic guitar! For this stunning personal declaration of faith, he receives a standing ovation from the transfixed audience. Phew! www.thenoise-boston.com (Mr. Curt)

BIRD MANCINIHusband and wife team of Ruby Bird and Billy Carl Mancini. Both lead singers, lots of harmonies, guitar, accordion, harmonica, with intriguing songs fusing rock and jazzy blues with a pop edge.

"...a cosmopolitan fusion...pop music in the most adventurous, inclusive sense of the term." -THE BOSTON GLOBE

"A dynamic duo with wailing vocals and a soul-filled, throw-down, hoe-down, acoustic blue-ness with rocky roots and captivating harmonies." -OASIS COFFEEHOUSE, Waltham

"Bird Mancini's new CD "Funny Day" is music not for today, but for eternity. This is one of those rare albums that I'll be pulling off the shelf for the rest of my life." -Les Lewellyn, preyinglizardmusic.com

JON MACEY & STEVE GILLIGAN are songwriters and musicians who have a deep love and admiration for American folk and country music. Both of them have also been professional musicians for many years, and have been accomplished in the pop, rock, and contemporary folk music worlds. The blending of these elements has given their duo a unique spin on old time, rock & roll, country, folk, and pop music, creating a sound that is at once completely original and familiar at the same time.

MR. CURT ENSEMBLE The grand-daddio of the LowBudget Records label, with a long & illustrious career as a member of the Boston music scene. Starting out as road manager for the legendary Modern Lovers and continuing through years & years & years & years of various groups and productions, he set out to become a catalyst for creativity and innovation. If there’s someone who needs a nudge, count on Mr. C. to offer counsel and support. Expect the new Mr. C. Ensemble album, “Leaving the Farm”, sometime later this year. His current group features Marty White on bass & vocals and Bob Menapace on soprano sax & harmonica; occasionally they are joined by the wonderful, young electric violinist, Clara Kebabian. Also, a big hello to Mike Macrides, who drummed so astutely on the new disc.

T MAX Besides publishing Boston’s longest running music magazine (the Noise), T Max has been an active musician since he was 14. From directing and producing Boston Rock Opera to leading the politically charged Sgt. Maxwell’s Peace Chorus; from the silly antics of Mr. Timothy Charles Duane to the complicated music direction of the multi-layered Project Eno; from the stripped-down musical sci-fi performance art of the Borg to his latest sparse ennui solo style, T Max surprises us with each new artistic step he takes.

GLENN WILLIAMS A founding partner with Tim Casey [Doctor X] of the LowBudget label, started over twenty five years ago, which introduced “The Roslindale Sound” to the world. Through many many albums and various live groups (including Random Access Memory), they have blazed a trail for local musicians, releasing a substantial body of work. Glenn is set to release his first solo album, and also produces & hosts a long-running Boston cable access TV arts program called “IT’S ALL ABOUT ARTS”. www.lowbudgetrecords.com
