Artist Line-Up
February 20th VoxMaid VoxMaids is made up of JoJo Razor and Cynthia Weyuker, two veteran story-telling vocalists who use various instruments and loop boxes to create garden theater. The story of the VoxMaids is considered neo-folk story music, played out in moments of insanity and beauty. Lately they have begun the arduous task of combining music, performance, film, improv and ritual together to create a fertile ground for the source, or what they like to call Searching for the Voice of the Third. With the precision measurements of alchemists, Cynthia and JoJo aim to create a soundscaped foundation on which the Voice of the Third may not only be heard but seen. With this combination it insures that no two performances are alike and instead breathes life into the moment, not only for the performers but for the audience. http://www.voxmaids.com/vm.html

March 13th Cello Joe - There aren’t very many singing, rapping, beatboxing, cello players in the world. You could probably count them on your fingers, if you knew any of them. But there’s a particularly funny and funky curious one you should remember and he goes by the name of cellojoe. Like most cello players, Joseph Abraham Tal Tien-Ru Chang Jr. Senior III esquire (or just Joey for short) started out as a classical cellist. A mild-mannered suburbanite kid from Los Altos, California, Joey began studying the cello at age ten. His first instrument was actually piano which he started at age nine. For the first eight years, there were weekly private lessons and many music summer camps. There were also weekly youth orchestra rehearsals. And from this fertile classical ground sprang forth a very unusual weed from a crack in the suburbial sidewalk. http://profile.myspace.com/cellojoe

April 24 Doris Williams Doris creates a rousing and nostalgic journey back to an enchanted age of Chivalry: Lords and Ladies and Court Jesters. This music is an ideal medium, blessed as it is with a fluidity and transcendence that allows the listeners to rejoin the distant parts of our historic tapestry. Sean Fullerton, Music Writer & Producer: Doris' naturalness and ease in sharing definitely helps others to be themselves, to open up. One of the most refreshing things about her nature is the way she lives out loud, unashamed. Whenever I am tempted to hide my talents under a blanket, I think of how she walks out on stage without props and bares her soul with a single line of melody. . . She is an inspiration. . . Without question, Doris is one of the most gifted artists working today. Whether singing Elizabethan folk tunes or classical arias, playing jazz piano or writing singularly original songs, this soulful young woman is an unstoppable force of creation. http://www.doriswilliams.com/
