Soft matter like colloidal suspensions and surfactant gels show strong
response to modest perturbations. One example is the unusually rich flow
behaviour of gels showing shear thickening, shear thinning and
instabilities. Our ongoing experiments on the flow of surfactant systems
show very interesting time-dependence in shear stress and strain rate,
covering periodic, quasi-periodic, intermittent and chaotic dynamics
