Marc Dreier was a prominent Manhattan attorney, successful beyond his dreams with celebrity friends, penthouse apartments, and luxury automobiles. But all that came crashing down when Dreier was exposed as one of the country's biggest ponzi schemers. UNRAVELED follows Dreier as he sits in house arrest for the 60 days leading up to his sentencing, being upstaged in the news only by Bernie Madoff. This documentary takes you into the mind of the man who was so brazen in his crimes that he would blatantly forge letterheads on financial records and impersonate financial advisors—in their own offices—on his way to netting over $700 million of fraudulent money. As he spends his days waiting for his fate inside a multi-million dollar New York apartment, Dreier is having to deal with the consequences of his own hubris. It's difficult to feel pity for a man who states his "biggest worry" is "being roomed with someone who is a snorer." UNRAVELED pulls no punches in revealing the level of greed and selfishness it takes to turn a smart man into a property of the state. During the current economic recession, find vindication in watching one of the biggest criminals of them all as he squirms upon hearing he may have to "work eight hour days on my hands and knees" while incarcerated.
