University of Richmond Free Music Concert Series: Richmond Symphony October 22, 2010

Faculty artist Joanne Kong and the Richmond Symphony premiere Side by Side, a work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Michael Colgrass. This unique work is the result of a joint commission by the Richmond Symphony, Esprit Orchestra, and the Boston Modern Orchestra and is the first concerto to feature a single soloist performing on both piano and harpsichord. The program will also feature Traces, a work by University of Richmond alumna Heather Stebbins, '09. In conjunction with the event, a number of activities and composition workshops will be held the week of the concert.
