Come join the world's longest celebration of Hip Hop Culture. The 8th Annual Universal Hip-Hop Parade steps off in the Bed-Stuy neighbourhood of Brooklyn on Saturday August 11th at 3:00 PM from Marcus Garvey Boulevard at De Kalb Avenue and proceeds down Marcus Garvey Boulevard to Fulton Street and finishs up at the corner of Franklin Avenue.
The parade, an annual non-profit educational and cultural event is always held on the Saturday before the anniversary of Marcus Garvey's August 17th birthday. Marcus Garvey used culture as a tool to empower people and encouraged the growth of Black institutions.
So come to the historic Black neighborhood of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn on Saturday, August 11th 2007 and celebrate this legendary freedom fighter's birthday by participating in and watching the 8th Annual Universal Hip-Hop Parade.
