In May 2008, Uncle Vanya, in a new translation by Yasen Peyankov and Peter Christensen and directed by Zeljko Djukic, became TUTA’s fastest selling show in the company’s history. This sold – out and critically acclaimed production, featuring live musical performances embedded in a 110 year old masterpiece marks the conclusion of TUTA’s Russian Theatre Festival. In January, audiences embarked on the fantastical journey of Oleg Bogaev’s Maria’s Field and a reading of Mr. Bogaev’s play Russian National Postal Service. In May, TUTA will also host a reading of a collection of Chekhov’s personal letters alongside a Russian Tea on Saturday, May 9th, at 3pm in the Chopin Theatre Lounge.
