CCM's brand new exhibit, features the best toy ever--the cardboard box--and explodes it into a museum-size experience. From the undulating 3-D waves of the exhibit's massive mural to the nine-foot-tall Box Giant, 'Unboxed' invites creative thinkers and cardboard tinkerers to discover the limitless potential of this deceptively simple material. Design, engineer, build, tear apart and remake your own cardboard creation in the Cardboard Studio, using a surprising array of cardboard boxes, tubes, supplies and child-safe tools. Construct a couch, fashion a futuristic pet, take flight in a hot air balloon or explore the deep blue sea in a custom-made submarine. Crawl up, over and around the nooks and tunnels of the Box Maze, and transform it into a spooky castle, animal den, space station or a combination of all three! Or simply climb on the Box Giant's lap to color, dream and relax, or build and play in the Tiny Town nearby. Don't miss Unboxed: Adventures in Cardboard, open Aug. 28 through May 5. This exhibit is designed for children (and adults) of all ages and abilities, and is free with museum admission.
