Ukrainian Folk Music Concert: The Marunych Duo November 14, 2010

The Marunych Duo of Kiev, Ukraine will perform a concert of Ukrainian and Russian folk music, light classics and original compositions on Sunday, November 14 at 5:00 PM at the Liberty Theater at Cooper Music, 1610 Northeast Expressway Access Rd., NE, Atlanta, GA 30329. Volodymyr Marunych is a professor of bayan (Russian accordion) at the Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in Kiev, Ukraine. A prize winner of many international competitions, he has over 250 compositions and arrangements to his credit. Natalia Marunych, also a laureate of international competitions, is a domra soloist who plays her 4-string mandolin-like instrument in “Native Tunes,” an ensemble of the Kiev National Philharmonic. The Marunych Duo is on a tour of the Eastern U.S. The November 14 concert is their only Atlanta performance.
