Kids age 10 and over, accompanied by an adult, are invited to learn the traditional art of Ukrainian egg decoration at Wright Library on Sunday, March 29 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. The eggs, also known as pyansky eggs, date back to ancient times. The name comes from the Ukrainian verb to write, since you use a stylus (called a kistka) to write with wax on the egg shell. The process is similar to batik. It is a good idea to wear old clothes as the process can sometimes be a little messy!
Space is limited, so be sure to register before March 25.
For more information or to register, please contact the Youth Services Department at 294-7171.
