The venue is MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas and prelims will be up on FX and Facebook. Dos Santos is most remembered for his gut wrenching fight with Roy Nelson in 2011. He fought the contenders battle with Velasquez, then title holder, last year itself, and won via a 4th round knockout. It was however later realized that they both suffered from injuries and were carrying it through the engagement; lessening the impact of this big bash. The rematch has been twice rescheduled until it seems it will finally take place on 29th instant.
Velasquez II had won his title beating Antonio Noguiera in a tightly nailed encounter and has moved n since then. However he has been plagued with rotator cuff injury, leading to awkward shoulder movement and thus affecting his punches.
