Typography and Cinema (discussion and film screening) August 4, 2007

"Referencing themes explored in the display Paper Movies in Room 74, this season examines the relationships between typography, graphic design, photography and film.

A discussion about the use of typography in cinema, including clips of classic film title sequences, and a consideration of the synthesis of text and montage. The session concludes with a screening of Pi which exemplifies Aronofsky's use of typography as psychological symbolism."
