In the North of England's answer to Oxbridge, every year student rowers from the Universities of Salford and Manchester go head to head along the Rivel Irwell at Salford Quays in a fiercely competitive battle for supremacy with profits going to charitable causes.

And with plenty of enternainment on the quayside, the event is now one of the most popular fixtures in Greater Manchester's social calendar.
