The Menlo Park Chorus performs carols and other holiday favorites, in both traditional and offbeat versions, in "Twisted Christmas." The evening features everything from the perennial "Sleigh Ride" to a novel "Jingle Bells" in both jazz and operatic styles. The City-sponsored Menlo Park Chorus performs with its director, April McNeely, and accompanist, John Iosefa. Refreshments will be served after the performance.
The family-friendly evening includes members of the Menlo Park Children's Chorus, a communitywide singing program for grades 1-6. Both choruses are sponsored by the City of Menlo Park Community Services Department.
"We are combining familiar Christmas tunes with new arrangements," said McNeely. "The chorus will also perform some funny spoofs. This is a great chance to get in the holiday spirit."
The Menlo Park Chorus is sponsored by the City of Menlo Park Community Services Department, Bay Area Music Foundation (BAMF) and the Performing Arts Alliance of Foothill College.
