During World War II, the U.S. Army Air Corps trained young African-American men as pilots in Tuskegee, Alabama. They became known as the Tuskegee Airmen. Approximately 450 men were sent to Europe for combat where they earned over 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses. Learn about the history of this important group of men.
