The Hanover Arts and Activities Center will kick off a Black History series on Saturday, Feb. 23 with a lecture on African-American art.
Karen Getty, art educator, docent, and tour services coordinator at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will discuss “Turning the Tide: African-American Art at the VMFA.”
Free and open to the public, the lecture will be held at 2 p.m. at The Center, 500 South Center Street, Ashland, VA 23005.
An exhibit, “African-American Art: New Mosaics,” from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will be displayed at The Center before and after the lecture.
