Turning Point May 7, 2009

This year will be the first ever Turning Point Festival at The Roundhouse. The festival will be taking place on 8th - 10th May 2009 and some of the hottest UK artists will be performing. Grime king Tinchy Strider and indie rockers Noisettes will be performing as well as Natty and top radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe.

Some of London's most creative young talent under 25 have been handed the keys to The Roundhouse to run Turning Point. The festival will be event packed with an electrifying line-up of music, dance, fashion and cultural performances.

Although music plays a big part at the Turning Point Festival, there is a lot more to it. During the day there will be a variety of different activities, using all the unique elements of the Roundhouse from the studios to the main stages. There will be creative workshops for budding DJs to have a go on the decks, photographers can also see if they have what it takes to become the next David Bailey and fashionistas can show off their styling skills. As well as workshops there will also be discussions about current issues that are facing young people today. If all of this becomes a bit too much there is the Roundhouse Cafe or bar where people can kick back and relax and people can also shop at the outdoor market which will feature emerging designing talent.

Amos Schonfield, one of the young people organising the Turning Point Festival said "For us Turning Point represents more than just a chance to assemble a dream line-up of music and performing arts. As the name suggests, its represents a turning point in our lives as well as the lives of all other young people that will be involved."
