"Tuesday Concert" presents "Peghead" May 12, 2009

A contradance favorite, Peghead is comprised of Doug DuBois and Pat Dickey (fiddles), Lisa Harris (guitar), Nick Gardner (banjo) and Reva Nimz (bass). Paying tribute to the spirited stringbands of early 20th century American country music, their core sound consists of bow-rocking fiddle and clawhammer banjo with solid rhythmic support from guitar and bass fiddle. They feature both hard-driving and sweet fiddle tunes, along with lonesome or raucous gems of early country songs. I’ve been trying to get them here for a while, so don’t miss this one.
