Calling all lovers & loners: Celebrate love and hopeless romance (or hate all over Valentine’s Day and be proudly single) with Austin musician, television host and community organizer Troy Dillinger for a rare musical performance at the Saxon Pub in South Austin. Dillinger will be accompanied by an all-star band, playing their “favorite songs about love and loss in the roots rock idiom.”
Dillinger’s all-star lineup is drummer Hector Muñoz (Alejandro Escovedo), bassist Ron McRae (Johnny Law), keyboardist Matt Hubbard (Willie Nelson) and guitarist/producer Mack McNabb as well as surprise guests, TBA. Dillinger will cover material by his musical mentor Stephen Bruton, former Austinite Ronnie Lane, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Faces, Marvin Gaye, The Flaming Lips, and Ronnie Wood (Stones/Faces) alongside originals from his own song catalogue.
The show’s 10pm slot is an excellent idea to either cap off a romantic Valentine’s date or to celebrate the institution of being single.
Tickets for the show will be $10 at the door/$7 advance.
