Discover, review and discuss current issues in intellectual property (IP) relating to research, and trends in IP in the UK and Europe at this afternoon seminar.
Liz Coleman will give an update on the patents framework in Europe and IP rules for European research. James Robertson, co-author of a Marks & Clark analysis of worldwide patenting (focussed on biotech applications), will speak on some of the challenging disparities in the use of patents by academic institutions and companies worldwide and how these may influence other R&D sectors. The meeting will include a break for tea and coffee and will conclude with a panel discussion including speakers and meeting participants.
Doors open for registration and coffee at 1.30pm. The meeting starts at 1.45pm and is scheduled to finish at 5pm with a coffeebreak mid-afternoon.
