This is our fourth Travel and Taste, and we are delighted to be featuring the natural history and culinary highlights of the Big Bend area of Texas. Big Bend National Park is defined by the sweeping curve of the Rio Grande River and encompasses more than 1,100 square miles. As can be expected, there is a tremendous diversity of plant and animal species to be found in its mountains, woodlands, lush river canyons, isolated seeps, expansive grasslands, and shrub desert habitats. We are delighted that organic chef Kim Gregory will be cooking up a culinary dinner for us, highlighting dishes from this region beginning with hors d'oeuvres and ending with dessert. Her food is not be missed! Dinner will be followed by a PowerPoint presentation given by Carol Decker, who has led a number of natural history tours to this region. Sit back and enjoy the birds, animals, and plants of this beautiful area. - - Sign up for the dinner and presentation, or just the presentation (though you'd be missing an amazing meal!) - - Dinner & Presentation: $30 member, $33 nonmember - Presentation only: $8 member, $10 nonmember Registration is required.
