This seminar serves as an introduction to creating and developing an adaptive, cost-conscious, transportation and transit safety program in an all-hazards operations environment to effectively mitigate risks from natural or man-made threats and recover from disasters. Instruction presents an overview of key hazards facing government leaders, transportation departments, contractors, and transit facilities and operations, as well as readily applicable strategies to create and manage an adaptive transportation and transit safety/security program. Special focus is on evaluating hazards and potential strategies from a participant focus, using class discussion and a mock hands-on facility threat and vulnerability assessment during a break-out session.
