Joti Rockwell, guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle; and Tony Perman, mbira bring together instruments of southern Appalachia with the indigenous instruments of Zimbabwe. The program includes selections drawn from the mbira tradition in Zimbabwe as well as American old-time and bluegrass repertoires. The performers combine features of each heritage together in an unusual synthesis of sounds.
