TRAGICOMEDIA and 17th century Baroque October 15, 2009

Tragicomedia, the internationally-known virtuoso continuo ensemble that specializes in 17th century Baroque music, will present a program of Italian music, featuring passionate love songs by Monteverdi and his followers as well as sacred music of the era from Vatican sources. Members of the ensemble include Steven Stubbs and Paul O’Dette, lutes and guitars, Erin Headley, gamba and lirone, and Alex Weiman, harpsichord and organ, with Nell Snaidas, soprano, joined by UNC faculty members Jeanne Fischer, Valentin Lanzrein, Terry Rhodes, Brent Wissick and Richard Luby.
