In honor of Women’s History Month, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum introduces the free Tour Guide Talk “Intrepid Women: Extraordinary Stories of Women in Sea, Air & Space” that will run every Saturday and Sunday in March, from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue), Manhattan.
While no women actually served aboard USS Intrepid, this hour long guided tour will recount over sixty years of trailblazing women and their accomplishments in sea, air and space. From “Rosie the Riveter” to the first women in space, this tour will explore the role women have played in the United States Military from the 1940s to the present day and share insight into the female spirit, summed up by the iconic phrase: “WE CAN DO IT!”
This Tour Guide Talk is open to the public and free with the price of admission to the museum. Visitors should sign up in advance at the Information Desk as there is limited space available.
