From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Cambridge Activities Program, CAEMS, and the Dane County Sheriff's Deparment will sponsor a fun-filled day for families of the Cambridge area Community. Beginning at 9 a.m. CAP and Dane County Sheriffs will sponsor the 1st annual bike rodeo. The bike rodeo is designed to eduated both children and parents on the importance of bike safety. The first 50 kids that arrive at the bike rodeo will be given a free bike helmet. Bike helmets were donated to the CAP by Habush, Habush, * Rottier Charitable Foundation, Fort Health Care adn the Fort Health Care Cambridge Clinic. In addition to the bike helmets, children will be given free water boottles, coloring books, stickers, and snacks. Children who complete the bike rodeo will be entered in the drawing to win one of two bikes.
At 10:00 a.m., the 2nd annual CAP Touch-a-Truck is a chance for kids to see the vehicles that fascinate, up-close and hands-on. Many community supporters pull together to make theis event as exciting as possible for kids. Vehicles this year will include fire trucks, tractors, semis, dump trucks, construction equipment, ambulance, fire safety trailor, race car, snow plows, school bus, a Black Hawk helicopter, and much more.
Finally, beginning at 11 a.m.., the Cambridge Area EMS will begin a bike-a-thon to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Riders will have the opportunity to raise money to help fund pediatric cancer research prior to the event.
