Perhaps inspired by her mother—and legendary singer, performer, and civil rights activist Bernice Johnson Reagon, co-founder of à capella group Sweet Honey in the Rock—Toshi Reagons’ inspired covers and exceptional songwriting has earned her much praise. Toshi and her band BIGLovely have opened for Lenny Kravitz, backed Elvis Costello, and shared the stage with Nona Hendryx, Pete Seeger, and Ani DiFranco.
