Opening night for the 4th Toronto Silent Film Festival. In association with Toronto's premiere period instrument ensemble Scaramella, we present one of the most profound works of 20th century film, Carl T. Dreyer's The Passion of Joan of Arc. Dreyer utilized the original trial transcripts of Joan's trial and pulls from his actress was has been regarded as the finest performance ever recorded on film. This masterpiece will feature the world premiere in live performance of a new score by Tom Peters. Peters and Scaramella's Artist Director Joelle Morton will perform. Our keynote speaker will be Media Archivist, Alicia Fletcher.
