After 7 years in the loony bin, a singer's amnesia begins to fade around the identity of who tried to kill him and he goes after revenge. The inscrutable one finds that high culture and low murder are not incompatible.

The master of gothic is back in a moody Technicolor thriller that has something for everyone. A mad doctor becomes obsessed (naturally) with a beautiful opera singer who reminds him of his murdered mistress.
